Opening for business on August 18, 1975, as First National Bank of Chatsworth, the bank has grown into the largest locally-owned community bank in northwest Georgia. Over the next year, FNCB will commemorate its journey with a series of special events, community initiatives, and marketing efforts to honor its history, engage customers, and reinforce its mission of community-focused banking.

A Rich History of Service and Growth
FNCB’s roots trace back to its opening in Chatsworth, Georgia, as First National Bank of Chatsworth on August 18, 1975. The bank has experienced remarkable growth and changes over the years, including revising its name to better represent its strategic initiatives that included key mergers which have expanded its reach and capabilities. In August 2019, FNCB merged with Northside Bank, and in July 2021, it merged with Heritage First Bank, further strengthening its position as the cornerstone banking institution in northwest Georgia. Today, FNCB operates 11 branches, a mortgage office in Dalton, and a Loan Production office in Chattanooga, TN, continuing its commitment to offering exceptional service to its customers in the region.

FNCB’s 50th Anniversary celebration will be marked by several special events throughout the year, culminating in two major events:

  1. Grand Opening Commemoration - August 18, 2025
    On the official 50th anniversary date, FNCB will host a system-wide celebration across all branches, including a special ceremony at the Chatsworth location to recognize the commemorative plaque from the bank’s original 1975 opening. The festivities will include food, refreshments, and speeches from local dignitaries and FNCB leadership. FNCB will also partner with the Murray County Chamber of Commerce to ensure this event is a memorable occasion for both customers and the community.
  1. Customer Appreciation Holiday Cookie Party & Anniversary Celebration - December 19, 2025
    The popular annual ‘Customer Appreciation Holiday Cookie Party’ will be expanded to include anniversary-themed activities, creating a festive atmosphere to close out the year-long celebrations. This event will highlight FNCB’s deep appreciation for its customers and the ongoing support it has received over the years.

A Unified Visual Identity
To bring the anniversary celebration to life, a special 50th Anniversary crest has been designed and will feature prominently in all marketing materials, creating a unified visual identity throughout the year.
